For Professor of Anaesthesiology:
- A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Postgraduate qualification i.e., M.D. in Anaesthesiology or a recognized equivalent.
- Experience: Fourteen years of teaching and/or research experience in Anaesthesiology after obtaining the qualifying degree.
For Assistant Professor of Anaesthesiology:
- Same qualifications as Professor of Anaesthesiology.
- Experience: Three years of teaching and/or research experience in Anaesthesiology after obtaining the qualifying degree.
For Assistant Professor of Anaesthesiology (Cardiac Anaesthesiology):
- A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- D.M. Cardiac Anaesthesiology or a recognized equivalent.
- Experience: D.M. in Cardiac Anaesthesiology (Three years) or a recognized equivalent (or) D.M. in Cardiac Anaesthesiology (two years or five years recognized course after MBBS) with one-year teaching and/or research experience in the subject of specialty.

Salary for JIPMER Recruitment 2023
Selected candidates for the post of Professor will receive a monthly salary on Level 14-A (Rs. 168,900-Rs. 220,400), while the selected candidates for the post of Assistant Professor will receive a monthly salary on Level 12 (Rs. 101,500-Rs. 167,400).
