Spanish football club Barcelona star forward Leonel Messi and Manchester City manager Pep Gordiola have announced a million euros, or about 820 million rupees, to fight the corona virus.
The Argentine player’s money will be spent on hospital clinics in Barcelona and health services in the home country.
The hospital clinic wrote on Twitter, ‘Leo Messi has helped the clinic to fight the corona virus. Thank you very much for your commitment and help, Leo. ‘
Gordiola, a former Barcelona player and manager, has also donated the same amount. He gave the money in a campaign launched by the Angel Solar Daniels Foundation and Barcelona Medical College.
After Italy, the corona virus havoc on Spain is the most broken in Europe. About 2700 people have lost their lives here and more than 40 thousand positive cases have been reported.
