The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay will begin in Fukushima on Thursday. But neither the torch, nor the torch bearer nor the audience will be present at the event. Olympic flame reached here on 12 March from Greece. It will be mounted on a vehicle in a lantern. Roads have become deserted due to Kovid 19 as people have been asked to maintain social distance.
National broadcaster NHK and Japan’s news agency Kyodo gave this information. Toshiro Muto, CEO of the organizing committee said, “I wish at least one of the runners could have been in the torch relay.”

Meanwhile, the Tokyo Olympics has been suspended. Sports federations, current and former players from around the world are pushing for it, while the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced a decision within four weeks.
